Beam splitters are a class of diffractive
optic that are the optical version of a copying machine. In other
words, a beam splitter makes copies of the input beam and retains
the divergence angle, diameter, and polarization of that input beam.
MEMS Optical's patented gray scale production
process allows us to send the output beams anywhere we want so we
are not limited to a symmetrical output pattern.
Both stock and
custom designs are available. Polarizing beam splitters are also
possible allowing the S and P polarizations to be split. Full divergence
angles as large 60 degrees are possible for a wide range of wavelengths.
Applications
- DWDM
- Optical reading heads for DVD and CD
and other optical data applications
- Color separation filters
- Sensors and detectors
- Grids and targets
